Traditional Archers of Oregon
Present
POPE YOUNG SHOOT
Hosted by STOTT MOUNTAIN TRADITIONAL ARCHERS
Saturday, July 24th & Sunday, July 25th, 2010
Brownsville, Oregon

HISTORY

The Pope Young Field Archers originally intended this shoot as a hunting season primer where gathered the premier hunting archers of the day. The idea being that tackle was checked, accuracy sharpened on assorted targets and appropriate hunting methods discussed among hunting archers. All with the idea of impressing upon The Game Commission (who frequently attended and gave talks at the event) that hunting with bow & arrow was a viable alternative to firearms and that seasons and areas should be set aside for the hunting archers of Oregon.
